Now that we have VirtualEyes, it is possible to record a Screencast using GrabberRaster, and use the chroma-key feature of virtualize to automagically remove the desktop background and/or other regions of the screen from the GrabberRaster output.

1. Run GrabberRaster first and enable screencasting.
2. Start up VirtualEyes and use GrabberRaster as the camera input.
3. Set the keying mode to background removal or chroma-key to eliminate unwanted material.
4. Record the output with Quicky or similar movie recorder that supports a pre-multiplied alpha channel.

2. Enable Rebroadcasting.
3. Start CamCamX.
4. Choose the GrabberRaster camera input from either the A or B menu.

As heard on technical support recently:

1. Open GrabberRaster, (requires Serial#) and start Broadcasting.

2. Start CamCamX, select GrabberRaster under the B menu.

If the GrabberRaster camera input is not visible in CamCamX, you may need to quit CamCamX and launch it again.

The current version of GrabberRaster can leave behind an Alias file inside your ~/Library/QuickTime folder.

The presence of this file may interfere with the proper functioning of other camera apps.

To correct any problems, simply throw the GrabberRasterXXX.component alias file into the Trash and empty it.

NOTE: This bug was fixed in the most recent release.

The new GrabberRaster screencast edition also includes a plugin for Quartz Composer, allowing you to create compositions that grab portions of your mac screen.

We have just upgraded GrabberRaster with screencasting functions, allowing you (with the addition of a paid license) to take any screen-based imagery and re-use it as a virtual camera input with CamCamX, Skype or Yahoo!Messenger.
